These Terms of Service govern your use of the Alderson website, accounts, and services. Alderson operates from Ottawa, Ontario. Unless a separate signed agreement applies. If you have a signed master services agreement, statement of work, data processing addendum, or similar contract with Alderson, that agreement controls where it conflicts with these terms.
1. Use of the website
You may use the website for lawful business purposes. You may not interfere with the website, attempt unauthorized access, scrape at unreasonable scale, introduce malware, or use the site to violate laws or third-party rights.
2. Accounts
If account features are available, you are responsible for keeping credentials secure and for activity under your account. Notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Engagements and services
Paid services, deliverables, timelines, fees, ownership, confidentiality, security, and data handling should be set in a written agreement or statement of work. Website descriptions are general information, not a binding scope of work.
4. Client materials
You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to provide materials to Alderson. Do not send secrets, regulated personal information, or restricted client material through public email or website channels.
5. AI outputs and review
AI-enabled systems can produce incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable outputs. Outputs should be reviewed by qualified humans before client-facing, financial, legal, HR, procurement, safety, operational, or other high-impact use.
6. Intellectual property
Alderson and its licensors retain rights in the website, software, tools, templates, methods, know-how, and non-client-specific materials. Rights in paid deliverables should be defined in the applicable written agreement.
7. Feedback
If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback, Alderson may use them without restriction or compensation, unless a written agreement says otherwise.
8. Third-party services
The website or services may reference or integrate with third-party tools. Those tools are governed by their own terms and policies. Alderson is not responsible for third-party services outside its control.
9. Analytics and advertising services
The website may use analytics and advertising services such as Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Ads or LinkedIn Insight Tag, and Plausible Analytics. These services may be used to measure site usage, understand campaigns, attribute conversions, and support advertising or retargeting, subject to applicable privacy settings and law.
10. Confidentiality
Confidentiality obligations should be set in a written agreement. Do not assume a public website form, ordinary email, or exploratory conversation creates special handling requirements unless confirmed in writing.
11. Disclaimers
The website is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. Alderson does not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or fit for a particular purpose.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alderson will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption arising from use of the website.
13. Governing law
Unless a signed agreement says otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada. The courts located in Ontario will have jurisdiction over disputes related to these Terms.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
