This policy explains how 17333790 Canada Inc., carrying on business as Alderson, collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit alderson.ai or use Beams. Beams is structural engineering software. It is not an AI-agent service, and we do not use your project content to train shared artificial intelligence models.
1. Information we collect
Account information. We collect your name, email address, account identifiers, organization details you provide, and authentication and security events. Amazon Cognito provides account authentication and email verification.
Project information. When you use Beams, we process the project names, geometry, materials, loads, assumptions, calculation inputs, results, notes, and reports that you enter or generate.
Service information. We collect limited device, browser, network, diagnostic, security, and product-usage information needed to operate and improve the Service. We also retain communications you send to support, privacy, or security contacts.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide and secure accounts, save and calculate projects, generate reports, maintain the Service, troubleshoot failures, respond to requests, prevent abuse, meet legal obligations, and understand aggregate product performance. We do not sell personal information or project content.
3. When we share information
We disclose information only to service providers that help us operate Beams, including Amazon Web Services and Amazon Cognito; when you direct us to do so; to complete a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards; or when required to protect rights, safety, security, or comply with law. Providers may process only the information required to perform their services for us.
4. Retention and deletion
We retain account and project information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the Service. Security, transaction, backup, and legal records may be retained longer where required for legitimate operational or legal purposes. You may request deletion by contacting privacy@alderson.ai. Deletion from active systems may not immediately remove encrypted backups, which expire through normal retention cycles.
5. Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable law. You may also withdraw consent where processing depends on consent. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
6. Security and location
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including access controls, encryption, logging, and tenant separation. No system is completely secure. Beams is designed around Canadian infrastructure in AWS Canada Central. Limited edge delivery, security, email, support, or provider operations may involve processing outside Canada and may be subject to local law.
7. Children
Beams is intended for professional users and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes
We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will post the revised version and effective date here and provide additional notice where required.
